The 100-bed general hospital in Erbil was commissioned by the Iraqi Ministry of Health to expand inpatient capacity in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Cairo Contracting was appointed as general contractor with responsibility for the full delivery of the facility, including the reinforced concrete superstructure, comprehensive mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, medical gas distribution networks, interior finishes, and external civil works. Project delivery in northern Iraq required cross-border logistics planning, local workforce mobilisation, and full compliance with Iraqi Ministry of Health design and medical equipment standards.
The assignment represented Cairo Contracting’s entry into the Iraqi healthcare contracting market and leveraged construction methodologies refined across the Company’s portfolio of Egyptian Ministry of Health hospital projects, demonstrating the transferability of Cairo Contracting’s healthcare delivery capability across the wider region.
